I used to run alot of lvl 2's with a MWD fitted Cormorant. They were almost always 4 jumps long and were usually finished long before the bonus timer was up.

All missions will raise your standing with the corp that assigned the mission. But you need to do a storyline mission to raise standings with the faction you are working for.

Was there a station either behind the ship or directly behind you? I have noticed a number of times that items behind me can interfere with my clicking even though they are not visible on-screen.

I have thought about training up to covert ops for this very reason. The ability to run around cloaked sounds like the best defense to me when exploring hostile areas.
